2016 Art Contest Winners Announced!

What they say is true – time flies when you’re having fun! And we’ve had a TON of FUN with our 2nd Annual libertarian art contest! So now, we’re super excited to announce the Adult and Youth Category winners (see the details of the contest here)! So here we go…drumroll please!

Adult Category 1st Place Winner!

School

It was a tough choice, but we’re happy to announce that “School” is our first place winner in the Adult Category! The cartoon style and story really stood out for us, especially when we heard that this is part of a planned series for Homeschool students known as “The Hatter Dialogues”. Illustrated by Paqui Romero, Michael Wiswell (the writer for this cartoon) says that, “10,000 conversations with Statists inspired the comic.” For Paqui Romero’s portfolio, please click here.

Adult Category 2nd Place Winner!

Eadoption

Ezra Ness, the creator of this amazing piece of art, is our 2nd Place Winner! Ezra, a 17 year old artist from Kentucky who was born in Ethiopia, notes that, “Here is a piece that promotes adoption, and how beautiful it can be.” We agree. This awesome tribute to caring for others really spoke to us. To see more of Ezra Ness’s great work, please check out his tumblr page at Ezra Ness Art. You can also catch up with him on twitter.

Youth Category 1st Place Winner!

Jstar

“J” is the first place winner in our youth artwork category (under the age of 13)! “J” says that he loves to draw, and notes that, “I wanted this cartoon to be a picture showing the world and all the people on it. That’s why I put the words ‘us’ on the earth, because it’s about us all! And then the ‘Gov Star’ is out there making people afraid and trying to tell them what to do.” Great work!

If you missed out this year, don’t worry – we’re planning on hosting another art contest next year! Also, a big “THANK YOU” goes out to those individuals who contributed their unique libertarian themed art for this contest!
